Tristan Zhuo

Chief economist

Tristan Zhuo is Chief Economist at China CITIC Bank International. Tristan has over 15 years of professional experience in the financial services industry, specializing in macroeconomics, monetary policy, and financial markets. He was previously Head of Economic Research at Nanyang Commercial Bank and a Senior Economist at Bank of China (Hong Kong). He was awarded best China macro forecaster both by Consensus Economics 2018 and Focus Economics 2019. Tristan studied at the University of Western Ontario, the University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the University of Chicago. He has a master’s degree in economics and an MBA.

Cici has been following blockchain technology since 2018 combined with her ESG knowledge from the recent assignment at BNP Paribas in 2021, she has a unique perspective on crypto assets as tools to enable UN Sustainable Development Goals.

She is also an ardent advocate for Blockchain applications in philanthropic management at the Association of Family Office in Asia.

Shen Li

Shen Li is a Managing Director based in State Street Bank Hong Kong office. He heads up State Street Global Markets China and oversees IndirectFX and StreetFX businesses for State Street Bank and Trust, Asia Pacific. Shen’s expertise sits in Emerging Markets trading and operations. He was extensively engaged in setting up China Stock Connect, Bond Connect, CIBM Direct related RMB-FX settlement and hedging solutions. He also set up the FX Sales & Trading business in China for State Street Global Markets in 2021. Shen took the lead in growing State Street’s FX market access in Korea, Taiwan, India, and Vietnam. Prior to his current position, Shen has held eFX, FX Options trading, and FX research roles in Boston, London, Sydney, and Hong Kong. He has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The University of Chicago, and a Mater Degree in Quantitative Finance from Bentley University.

Irene Lee

Senior macro trader

Irene Lee is the former Head of Macro APAC at RBC. She has nearly two decades of trading and business management experience, which spans through EM and G10 markets. She has played a key role in increasing the profitability of RBC’s FX businesses in the APAC region. Prior to that, she was a Senior EM Trader and Managing Director at Standard Chartered Bank where she led the CNH and North Asia Offshore Rates Trading businesses. In the earlier years, she was a Rates Trader at Goldman Sachs and traded USD Fixed Income for Barclays New York. She held a Master degree from the University of Chicago with a concentration in Econometrics and Statistics.

Michael Rothlin

Michael Rothlin is the Co-Founder, Managing Director of the new 2023 White Elk Macro Hedge Fund launch, based in Hong Kong. Michael has 25 years markets experience, most of which leading various trading teams across the Asia region with focus on FX and Rates products. He has extensive knowledge and experience running both significant client flow businesses and discretionary risk-taking businesses across G10 and EM markets. Prior to the new Hedge Fund launch, Michael was most recently at HSBC based in Hong Kong where he was Regional Head of G10 FX and Short End Rates Trading. In addition, also held prior roles across the region at Société Generale, Barclays, ABN Amro and NM Rothschild.

Cora Chiu is a managing director in HSBC private bank and works as North Asia Head of Foreign Exchange and commodities advisory. She leads a team of advisors to deliver foreign exchange and precious metals advices, hedging solutions and execution for UHNW clients and global family offices. Cora started as treasury advisor from corporate bank. After that, she moved onto investment bank and private bank to cover FX clients. Before she joined HSBC, she headed the APAC FX advisory in Citi Private Bank and Hong Kong FX advisory in UBS AG Private Bank. Cora holds a Master degree of Financial Engineering from the University of Hong Kong For Bachelor degree, she graduated from the Unversity of Texas at Austin with three majors: actuanal science, economics and Japanese. She s a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). She is also a certified private wealth professional (CPWP) certified by the PWMA. In her career, she is aspirated to build the FX desk by combing technology, AI and big data management for more precise advisory, enhance dealing efficiency and increase markets trading volume.

Eva Chen

Prior to joining Bank of China (HK) Ltd in 2016, Eva was with RBS where she was the e-commerce salesperson covering North East Asia across all client sectors. Before that, Eva was with HSBC where she started her career in the banking industry.

Gordon Tsui is a seasoned bond fund manager with more than two decades of financial market experience. He previously led the fixed income team at Taikang Asset Management (Hong Kong) and managed the USD bond portfolio of Taikang Insurance Group Inc. Prior to this role, Gordon was Deputy Chief Investment Officer of Hang Seng Investment Management and Lead Fund Manager of Hang Seng RMB Bond Fund, which won the “Best in Class” award in 2014 for “RMB Bond” category in Hong Kong by Bloomberg Businessweek. Gordon obtained first class honours degree in Economics from the LSE on Sir Edward Youde Scholarship awarded by Hong Kong SAR Government. He stationed in New York as Representative of Hong Kong Monetary Authority between 2001 and 2004.

She has been ranked #1 regional local currency research strategist each year since 2015 by the Asset Magazine’s investor poll. Prior to this role, Becky worked as an Asian credit strategist at HSBC.
