Stéphane Malrait is Managing Director and Global Head of market structure and innovation for Financial Markets at ING Bank. He is working with advocacy groups, policy makers and regulators to follow market structure and industry challenges impacting the financial market industry. He is also leading innovation activities in the capital market space within ING and developing external partnership with Fintech companies. He actively contributes in industry working groups to represent ING Bank.

Stéphane joined ING in 2015 to lead the bank e-commerce initiatives across all financial market products and to develop the financial market group’s cross-asset ecommerce strategy. Before joining ING, he spent eight years at Société Générale, where he was Global Head of FIC eCommerce, creating an eCommerce business covering credit, rates, money market, emerging market and FX. Prior to this, Stéphane worked at JPMorgan Chase for ten years, serving in different roles in Global FX E-Commerce Business Management and cross-asset eCommerce technology and was based in London and New York.

Stéphane has a strong background in financial markets and understands the need for continued technological development to drive positive change in trading and market structure workflows. He is leading ING Financial Market innovation strategy and working on the implementation of financial regulations that will impact the clients trading activity and transform how trading floor operates.

Stéphane is also an advisor or board member for several Fintech initiatives and trading associations in Fixed income and FX. Since 2005 he has been active with the ACI Financial Market Association - an international non-profit organisation that represents the interests of market professionals in foreign exchange and money markets. He chaired the ACI FX committee from 2010 for 10 years and joined ACI FMA board in 2020 and became chairman of the board in June 2021. He is also an active member of the ECB FX contact group and a board member of ICMA since May 2023.

Ralf started his professional career at ABN Amro in 2006 as an FX options quant, followed by 8 years with Morgan Stanley in London and New York, first in model validation of options pricing models and then in quant sales, focusing on systematic FX trading strategies and FX market microstructure. 

From 2014-16 he ran Morgan Stanley’s QSI team in New York before joining Goldman Sachs in London in 2016.

Paul moved to London in 2007 to further build the Eastern European Short Term Interest Rate Trading desk (STIRT) at Deutsche Bank Frankfurt, which became the market leading trading desk in this area for many years under his tenure. Paul then focused on building the STIRT business in South Africa, which also became market leading under his leadership, until he turned his focus on building the Asia business from 2012 and helped develop the newly internationalized offshore RMB market.  Here Paul represented Deutsche Bank in the industry working groups to develop offshore CNH and became Deutsche Bank’s head of Asian Fixed income and currencies (FIC) in the West, where he managed trading desks in London and New York that were focused on delivering all FIC Asia products to western investors.  Paul left Deutsche Bank at the end of 2016 to join BNY Mellon as the Global Head of FX Forwards, where he was instrumental in developing the existing successful FX Swap Franchise into a broader STIRT business.

Prior to joining OSTTRA via Traiana in 2010, Steve worked as a systems architect and consultant on a diverse range of cross-asset trade and post-trade projects for Equity and Commodity/Financial Futures Exchanges, Interdealer Brokers, Third-Party Vendors and global banks.
